V. Social Psychology Textbooks
The following are 4 excellent, readable textbooks with a broad coverage of the field. I can recommend them because I have used various editions of all of them, at one time or another, in my classes.
- Saul Kassin, Steven Fein, & Hazel Rose Markus (2007). Social Psychology (7th edition). Boston: Houghton Mifflin.
- Elliot Aronson (2007). The Social Animal (10th edition). NY: Worth Publishers.
- David G. Myers (2007). Social Psychology (9th edition). NY: McGraw-Hill.
- Susan T. Fiske (2003). Social Beings: A Core Motives Approach to Social Psychology. NY: Wiley.
- Although highly readable, Fiske’s text is best suited for upper-level undergraduate or graduate courses.
